How do I play these games effectively? The last few games I played I used PD and infantry sparingly in Europe, but I can never expand relatively fast enough before I get attacked or run out of money.
Also; that feel when you get allyfagged

Guerilla warfare.
use militia to expand as well as marines.
imperialist also works, but expansion probably won't be great.

Lol, I played some last 5k games with SM. Haven't lost so far ^^
The point is, you must find your own effective way to play in 3 and 5k games. 3k usually must be played with GW, because it's hard to use anything else effectively enough. 5k games can be played with most strategies, if you know their cons and pros and how to use them effectively.

This is wrong. Just a few examples (on europe only, on world maps there are plenty of options):
PD: Greece, Serbia, Denmark
IF: Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland
IMP: Greece, Finland, Ukraine, Poland
TG: Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark
NC: Ireland, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark
GC: Ireland, Denmark, Belarus, Austria
SM: Portugal, Ireland, Estonia
Don't play like the standards, if everyone else is playing GW (I miss the days it was underground) find other alternatives and create your own playing style.

As far as i know,people tend to play SM in poor asian areas like north korea,but it's balanced if you won't fight to hard against other people.

I pretty much use both GW and MoS in 3k games. For MoS to start I spam infantry to expand then once my income is good I switch to marines. I pretty much only use GW in team games and if I feel I'm gonna be ally fagged against. (Like in most games.) I also like 3k more than 5k. I like the no money feel at times.
