What in the tarnation is this

I used to record duels against low ranks just in case they ever ended up wall fucking me and rushing t2, it's happened 5 times. Every time I talked to Eagle he helped me out and deleted. When I was lower rank this really threw me off, of course any "pro player" can defend quite easily and win but lower skilled players who cannot defend are punished by this.

Since there are CW formalized rules, why not duels? why can one not apply the same rules to duels? I understand its limiting nature, but given proof and screenshots why should such noob plays be enabled by this.

I am fine with no holds bar duels, I have done them before (wfing t1, rewalling, wall bypassing , serb walling all allowed), its a fun practice. But where do we draw the line when one player operates with courtesy and the other disregards formalities. It should be both playing under the same set of rules or no rules at all.

Would you rather we assume by default no rules? how will this help settle disputes amongst duelists who play by different rule sets? This inconsistency breeds more rules via settling these disputes than simply having a standard in the first place

Correct, we used to moderate duels/cws quite a lot. It became a hot button issue among mods though as grey areas swarmed every situation and differing standards on an impossible problem made for a lot of headache & biased moderating. It was a collective decision in 2018 I believe to just limit moderation down to just rule breaking or having both parties agree to delete.

It's kind of funny seeing new mods come in and try to change this not knowing how bad it was lol. Trust me, for everyone involved, it's better if mods stay out.

You can decide if someone is trustworthy enough to duel, the same way you decide in regular games if they're trustworthy to ally. If they screw you in a duel, ban them from your games and they'll have no one left to duel after their reputation falls.

Mods only delete duels under 2 occasions:

• Breaking a rule during the duel (cheating pretty much)
• Both players agree

If you DC, if you get wf'd t1, if you didn't look at the settings before picking your country, etc, we will not delete the duel. Feel free to discuss:

Bug Report
Expected behavior
When you buy lifetime premium a second time it checks if you have it and gives you an error if so. This is a possible mistake when people think they can buy premium for their friends this way.

Actual behavior
You get the confirmation that the purchase was successful, the money is taken but then you have 1 person who paid $40 extra for nothing.

Steps to reproduce the behavior


1. Get a job
2. Buy premium
3. Do it again

Other Information:
I meant to buy it for Lokua for winning my contest, figured i could test if this was a way i could do it while i was at it. I'm an admin so i just gave Lokua premium after the test.

Today's the last day, i just updated it a couple hours ago and Lokua is looking good! Contest ends 23 1/2 hours from now.

I forgot to look at my strat at the beginning of the game, but here is a SS showing my trans having 17 capacity + I did record and will upload all my games after I win or lose.

This has been discussed a lot, it hasn't been done because programming even a basic AI would take a lot of time and resources that AtWar's never had. I believe someone said atwar would be especially challenging because there isn't like gridpoints? Might be wrong about that.

I genuinely want to know why people think this would be a bad idea. Ai would make this the perfect web based strategy game in my eyes. Even if they ai is a little lackluster.

i don't think anyone thinks it's a bad idea... it's just an idea that takes a lot of development time and resources, and there is bigger bang for buck implementing other ideas right now.

This is correct. AW is unique in that it is not tiled (so no grid) ... AI's use algorithms, and so armies in the open field (not in cities) would be difficult to program for an AI to intercept them. {This was Amok's explanation...}

Dave however says it's do-able... but then it gets back to the time commitment.

Bug Report

Expected behavior:

When I have multiple notifications, I expect to read one, have the notification number decrease by 1, and read the next.

Actual behavior:

When I read the first one (it doesn't matter if i right click and open in new tab, or click directly) i get the first notification, but lose all the others.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Guess i already covered that, but to repeat, if i click on the 'green' notification icon with a number greater than one, i can read the first notification, but lose the others.

Updated! Remember this ends at May 1st at midnight my time, as well as all the rules i set out (I'll be fairly strict on them).

Stop trying to equate the US bombing terrorists with Russia bombing Ukraine. I haven't seen a single Ukrainian flying airplanes into skyscrapers. I haven't seen a single Ukrainian suicide bomber. I haven't seen Ukrainians blow up a passenger airliner over Scotland (Lockerbie, in case you're too young to remember). I haven't seen any Ukrainians exploding holes in the sides of any American naval destroyers (USS Cole). I could go on, but you get my point. The U.S. does not bomb innocent countries. What Russia is doing to Ukraine is horrible, and unlike anything the world has seen for a long time. If you can't see that, your mind has been too brainwashed to face reality.

It's on the map makers to fix things that shouldn't be there in the first place. It's been 11 days since I posted this and Dave hasn't even glanced on the page.
Why has atwar been in a downward spiral? The powers that be see zero importance in maps and their makers. I'd like to see a single veteran map maker say they're happy in the current state of the map-making side of the game.
Do you want new players that stay? I seem to remember a map-making renaissance in atwar's heyday.

I saw it 11 days ago, just as I read every single thing that is posted on these forums, every day. Please don't insinuate that because I haven't replied yet I "don't care". I don't reply until I have something to say. Show some appreciation for the fact that maybe I have other things to do as well.

So while it was satire, I still don't think a new minimod should be fucking around tbh. Its really a test imo.

I love diz but he's not going to be a minimod.

Hold the line and scorched earth are failed strategies from amok/Ivan's time. Idk if Dave is considering them at all at this stage.

The rest of the strats were already added as something of a taster before. I believe the plan is to maybe bring them back one day, or maybe they'll be sometimes-seasonal strats that will come back and go away like the mcrib.

I updated the list to include the latest batch of entries and DQ'd a player for a couple different reasons. New leader is Vink!

Someone is at it again... we began noticing strange activity yesterday, and we can say definitely we're under a new DDoS attack now. I've been adjusting our cloudflare settings and as a result you may be asked to solve more captchas to access the site. I'm trying to keep it to a minimum because I know how annoying those are.

If you experience any weird things (like the chat box not loading, etc) just refresh the page and it should work again.

Could there be some sort of rankings? For example the person with the highest elo gets lifetime prem, the person with the 2nd highest elo gets 5 years prem. And the person with the 3rd highest elo gets 1 or 2 year prem. Also could there be some sort of pity award for the people that have bad elo. The people who have the lowest elo should get like 3 month prem. Please take my ideas into consideration. Thank you for your time.
