Health care is for sissy Europeans. Only the strongest survive in America. If you get sick, you die.

Free health care is very nice, but so flawed. In so many cases tax payer dollars are wasted on treating those who smoke, do drugs, or activities which can cause harm over those who just got unlucky. Since they can't show bias, a smoker of 53 will get a lung transplant (assuming its needed) over a 3 year old kid who may be slightly less urgent. In my personal opinion, smoking (tobacco) should be illegal or people that do should be identified, much like how medical marijuana users are. That way they can pay for their own expenses or via insurance and not reap the benefits of hard working tax payers for their silly mistakes. NOTE: I'm not from the USA incase that may have caused some confusion while reading.

First, it's not free, but paid through mandatory tax, and second, point is that not large percentage of population gets sick, so State can never go bankrupt by just paying for healthcare bills. And citizens are free of stress and worries having $100,000 healthcare bills when they needed few stitches and tooth repair. If you don't trust me, ask how many times your father visited doctor, then ask your grandfather how many times he visited doctor or hospital. Then ask them about his father and the rest of people from your community, how much did they visited doctors and hospital in their time, that's a timespan of 100 years. Sure some view healthcare as a commodity today and not right, but if State-owned healthcare works, no need to change it. I just like people being stupid so they think visiting private hospital or clinic is 'prestige' and state hospital is for 'workers and plebs', so they pay astronomical prices, then i'm glad private doctors profit on them. That's why i like capitalism because it leaves you to fend alone and do what you want under the umbrella of individualism, so stupid masses make astronomical profit to some smart people just because they are uninformed, superstition and uneducated about the product or situation. In other words, i support the 1% but i'm digressing here.

Even though the Canadian economy is extremley modern and successful, the revenues from netural resources related to the population number is rarely high. therefore they can pay for everything without any effort.

Most people who can afford it have private healthcare anyway as it's not that expensive (in Ireland anyway). But banning tobacco is just ridiculous and sounds like something someone with no life to them would say.

Private healthcare means no government regulation on it. There would be private doctors licensed by companies and private hospital etc.... The companies can put as many or as little regulation as they want. Imagine if firefighting as privatized.

I'll try my best to explain to you why universal health care does not work in the United states. First of all The United states population is larger then that of European countries, aswell wage desparity and poverty are rampant aswell as poor health choices, drugs, more types of drugs, bad food improperly regulated. Lastly our government has this thing called lobbying where the rich corporations finance a politician to get them elected to push there agendas. The entire federal government is bought. So this causes a problem where the government won't raise the taxes to the necessary levels on the rich required to have free health care, add that with my previous statement about poor health choices in the United states causing more frequent visits to the doctors, and you have a cluster fucked system that is incapable of free health care.

Would it not make more sense to punish those inflating prices on health care needs such as stitches? Big pharma needs to be regulated because they are out of control, atleast in the United states that's the case. Epipens costed 47 dollars in 2014, they currently cost 900 dollars. That should be illegal as hell to do.

Roi....im not a kid and can answer your question.....a family of 4 will pay about 2500$ per month with no dental and will still cost you money for co-pays which would be about another 2500 per year

Wtf kind of healthcare do you have where you pay $2500 a month for FOUR people with no dental. Give me a link to this company please. I have a solo plan with a subsidiary of Cigna (monopoly in Colorado especially in denver and suburb) and I get vision, dental, emergency care, and my premium is only $190 a month. They cover 75% of prescription medications and I have a $20 copay when I visit my doctor. My premium used to be $170 three years ago so it has gone up. No I dont have pre-existing condition.

In Romania there is universal health care if you are a student until 26 of age or if you are working and pay for it monthly, but in the last period of time I've been been buying my medication fully because it seems hard to get compensated medication nowadays. However, this universal healthcare does not cover all the medical expenses, but it covers scanning, hospital stay, so like the general things. However, there are also private hospitals and lately I've been to one of those too and even in these at some doctors my insurance covers some services. These hospitals are regarded more favourably by the population.

Yes if Big Pharma is State-owned, then government can fix prices as that's their company. But you can't order private owner to change prices. Imagine if German government order Mercedes to lower prices on their cars. That goes against free market, where everyone have freedom of choice, freedom of exchange and freedom of deciding value. Russia have different problem, where you can't lower your prices and profit if there's a chance, because cartel will come to you and make threats. Almost every industry in Russia, from market salesmen to bankers have cartels where they agree about prices, they all make the same. Then if some new in the business try to create his own prices in order to be competitive and attract customers, he gets beaten, threatened or killed. It's fucked up, but it's the way world goes on.
