Question about combining countries

Is there any way to directly combine two countries, without deleting both and tracing over the old one/awkwardly shifting the borders for a long, long time? I want to be able to just select two countries, combine them, and continue on my map making, but I don't know how. If you can't, is it possible that it will one day be implemented?

It is impossible, because the engine developed isn't sophisticated enough to do that. In regards to it being implemented in the future, I say no. Amok is too lazy to save other people lazy enough not to redo the country. (No offence to you, but in general.)
