nah, i didnt grow up 1947, i played platin, pearl, diamond, heartgold and then the pokemon became too cryptic for even me

Because eagles are brutal, they murder lemmings and build their nests with them

Europeans have a tendency for eagles, especially the older nations and the monarchic ones due to the fact for centuries the skies were seen as something beautiful and birds like the eagle and others were seen as majestic and "kings and queens" of the skies, and also attached to coat of arms of several royal houses.
In other cases, royal houses have a tendency for dragons lol

Now eagle is mostly common in eastern europe. It symbolyses the fighting spirit, fearless and always defending its home from invaders. Its a symbol of braveness, proudness and fearless.

Almost nothing is known about how they breed, a birth has never been recorded. They hold territory, they have tribes and clans with hierarchies and go on great hunts together. They are ancient creatures living up to 70 years and not reaching sexual maturity until their 30's. In the womb, the unborn eat the eggs of their kin, they see in electromagnetic fields emitted by movement and on occasion will raise their heads above the waves to simply stare at their prey. A bite from a Great White is the equivalent to getting a knockout punch from the worlds most heavyweight boxer. It can smell a drop of blood from miles away and it wont take long before it arrives to see what caused it.

Sadly, it looks shit on a flag. Much better for military badges.

Nation using white shark as national symbol would look evil and barbarian. Who would use cold killer as a national symbol and why?

Dolphin would be better choice, more peaceful and smarter than white shark. Mammal living in water, pretty epic.

Europe is using eagle as symbol because Medieval Era. In that time noblemen and knights had hobby to own eagles and hawks, sometimes hunt with them. It was a matter of wealth, class and prestige to have an eagle or hawk. People admired them. Eventually ended up on flags and coat of arms.
