The following units on the official map can be unlocked with sp you get from games:
Militia
Anti Air
Marines
Helicopters
Submarines
Sentry Planes
Stealth Bombers

Certain strategies unlock these temporarily if you select said strategy in game
Guerrilla Warfare- Marines and Militia ( i think)
Desert Storm- Helicopters
Master of Stealth- Stealth Planes and Marines

If you are talking about Rare units then here is what you need to know: Rare units is a setting that can be adjusted in the game menu before starting a game. It is random where they drop but when you take a city that contains them u will get them added to your army. Each country has different rare units with different stats, but i cannot inform you where each type of rare units is dropped.

Also if you need help with learning the game I would be happy to teach you, and also i could help u not waste your sp on unimportant upgrades.

You can unlock Marines permanently by going to your upgrades and buying them for 900 sp. Perfect defense does not unlock marines.
