10.10.2024 - 18:29 France - The Capetian Miracle The Capetian miracle (French: Miracle capétien) refers to the dynasty's ability to attain and hold onto the French crown for more than 300 years (987-1316). Rules: Map and rules are in test phase. General rules: The usual: - No wall-fucking, no trespassing T1 - Do not attack coastal or island cities on turn 2, as they are impossible to wall beforehand. - No leaving before t15 - No unconsented ally-capping. - Don't sail inside mountains or land that is clearly not a sea or a river. - Don't use land units to make walls on the sea. Not even triangle walls around coastal cities will be tolerated. Kingship rules: 1) The King of France (and any other suzerain) cannot attack his vassals without reason. Kings must also intervene if their vassals are under attack from a player outside the kingdom. 2) Kings can manage the diplomacy of their vassals (making/breaking peace and alliances). Vassals can refuse to comply and rebel. 3) Vassals must handover their "Taxes" city to their overlord/king. Refusing is an act of rebellion. 4) The King of France MUST demand a territory from one of his vassals every 5 turn (starting t5, but he can do it more often if he wishes). He cannot a demand a territory from a player who has 3 or less provinces ; and cannot demand territory from the same player twice in a row. Vassals can refuse to comply and rebel. 5) Several kings can coexist. They are not required to attack each other, unless : one of them claims the French crown a king attacks another king's vassal. 6) Vassals do not need a reason to rebel. Game mechanics: -Diplomacy minigame: On the left of the map, you will find a diplomacy "minigame" where you can signal either your allegiance to a king, your independence or your own claim to kingship. -> Kings are independent players who have their own vassals. So only move your unit in the "Claim Kingship" area if you do have vassals. It is mostly informative though, you may or may not use it. There is no specific rule regarding it, except that it is forbidden to attack an unit in that area, and it is forbidden to bring more units from outside. Currently, there are no events except turn 2.
