Interesting question, I might have to think about it more but I would go even higher. If I were presented with playing with a general that has full upgrades for 1k at the start of the game, vs playing without the general and 1k more starting cash....most situations I would take the general.

First, the general has different capabilities for a rank 11 than a rank 6. The basic general upgrades are +1 attack and defence on infantry and +1 attack on tanks. So the strategy it compliments the most is imperialist. Not all strategies are buffed a great deal by the AVERAGE general. As Gw as a rank 8 the general will only buff militia in the stack by so much.

The average rush in a 3v3 is probably about 70 mixed units largely consisting of infantry meaning the general will add about 50 attack to that stack (ignoring bombers and militia because bomber upgrade is worth 19k sp and will be an upgrade players typically purchase at r9) so the general is worth 650 of PD infantry (13 units dealing 4 attack valued at 50) and 510 of imp infantry (17 units dealing 3 damage valued at 30)

The general is also highly vulnerable and needs protecting, and with a value of 50 sp on his head is a target to other players, influencing the way you have to play. So if we take the average of the above values and deduct about 20% for vulnerability we get a figure between 400- 500 for the average gen.

Obviously a high ranks general would be worth more .. Say 800 but conversely a low ranks general will have fuck all upgrades and only be worth 200.

No. a generals value is liquid dependent on the upgrades and strategy being used at any given time and what kind of game is being played, because a generals abilities are simply multiplied by the number of units in the game, my general is worth 800 (in a 10k game) (it would be be worth more like 200 in a 3k game and more like 400 in a 5k game). I also think air trans are a waste of money and should only be bought in extreme situations, where surprise and unpredictability are paramount, buy sea trans instead they're way more efficient, please don't argue with me, peasant.

General is worth 40 USD since that's about what you get purchasing premium since map editor is not coming.
