I find this discussion amusing. What makes you all think that banning RP maps, specifically, getting the mods to ban RP maps, will make RP go away? Does it not occur to you that many GGG maps and some 1938 scenarios also can serve as good role-play maps? And that Sapien is already being used more for role-play than it is for free-for-all or team games?

Or do you propose to ban all of those maps too?

Banning RP maps will definitely not stop the instinct to socialize, to play games where rallying other players is as important as rallying your troops.

If you want players (such as myself) to play less RP, find us an incentive to make that change.

Ah. My bad, then. I agree with Tunder, and I assume you do as well.
In fact, banning Tempted's RP might push people to make a decent RP map (for once!).

At this point RP is beyond repair, since Tempted has quit RP, we should just simply have a mod hide the map until he wants it revealed. Obvious it has already tampered hundreds even thousands of player minds, but it will at least help future joiners to be experienced to something more wholesome then just ally-fag/sp-farming. And yes it is SP farming, there is a limit, even if its not specifically defined, to the amount of income and reinforcement spam to determine a map an sp farming map, and certainly if mods look they can see players who not only abuse RP but exploit as an easy way to rank up and gain upgrades, ergo SP.

As someone who has been roleplaying in games such as Supremacy 1914 and GTA SA:MP for years, I really liked the idea of roleplaying on Afterwind (Especially since it's a turn-based game), however, although I've played that map quite a few times and I enjoyed the game, I think that the map does give you a lot of SP (especially if you go to war lategame) and should be banned. Now,, when it comes to the map itself, it's pretty bad. Now, this is not a reason to ban the map, but I just wish someone makes an RP map without gay units, without gay income, without a shitload of starting funds and.. please... NO FUCKIN BUNKERS.

I've seen several new RP maps that aren't very popular but are still a good start for everyone to begin roleplaying in maps where you don't simply start as Blitz China, UK or America and just conquer the world as you get 50k money and the abillity to spam OP tanks/marines, I'd love to play a game where I can roleplay and still play the game as I'm supposed to, perhaps skill would matter more in RP if that happened.
The bad thing about these new maps/scenarios is that they always focus on a specific real life conflict so it always turns into a team game instead of a roleplay game though.
