I have lost just about every game i have played/
what could I possibly doing wrong? I have tried just about everything and it doesn't work.
Any suggestions on how I can better approach my game would be much appreciated

You have won 3 of 30... that's not unusual for a new player learning the game mechanics. Not sure if you've played many casual games, but if not, you have time to watch the rolls and see exactly why battles are won or lost. New players who understand the game mechanics have a decided advantage over other new players... play on ♥

Triangle walls are the key to success; wall your capital and cities (with +3 or higher reinforcements). This will give you a huge advantage over other new players. And, try to learn how to use MoS effectively. Most new players don't wall, so using marines works fantastic.

edit: MoS is a pretty good strategy (imo) for lower ranks, higher ranks (rank>5) are experienced in defending marines.
