At the moment unless im mistaken we can have either that you can produce the units of your home country whereever, or you can produce the units of the country youre occupying. can there not be more option here? say a combination of the two... like you can only build what you start with as long as its available in the occupied country too?

I think you are a bit confused. Let me use an example. Home country only unit production: Using UK: British troops can recruit British Riflemen even in Thailand or Peru-ENROLMENT method Home + occupied country unit production: Using France: French archers as home units to take England where you can only make English Longbowman-CAPTIVE method Home country-available in Occupied: Imagine you are France and using French Commandos to take UK, then you can't build any more marines (since UK uses SAS force) That will screw many players up and you need a lot of cities and rein and transports to ensure you get your variety of troops avaliable. That method will make certain regions worthless since in default map, French Guiana doesn't really have anything to build but infantry/militia and naval transports. If you were to expand with that then you have hardly any chance of doing well.

Only if you use that way of doing things. If you were doing individual units like that, then what would be cool would be being able to select unit by unit, where it can be made, and if its a starting unit there.... but for my first suggestion, i know it wouldnt work with that level of specialisation of units. you could have usa being able to build stealth aircraft in usa, germany but not in nigeria, and have nigeria not able to build in nigeria, usa or germany. and maybe french guiana should be useless
