I just got the idea about having the climate of each region(as we know it in real-world) affecting the units passing through this region.
For example, most of Russian lands would be characterized by snow that would decrease all units range by 1(all units above Russian lands) and decrease hit points or ARB by 2! Whereas other regions would give a kind of a boost to units and their movement range because of their geographical nature.
This upgrade in the game if implemented could also include the inability to pass through Bermuda Triangle and so on...

Its been suggested a lot and rejected by ivan amok before (more in the guise of terrain causing differences and such)
but regardless, support.

Climate effect on units is bad idea, they should add day and night and food effect on units if no food units start to revolt and leave army and became rebels

I think it would cause the game to be too complicated in some aspects, and it must be a nightmare to script!

The funny thing about this is by the time you realize that this is completely pointless, it's too late to stop reading.

Yes I have supported this aswell but it gets shot down every time it is suggested.

Terrain is indeed shot down every time its suggested, so how about this - we have a couple/few different types of no-go areas instead of just one, and units can be customised for which ones they can pass through. Its not the huge thing thats suggested normally but will create another dynamic and to need alpine troops in certain areas.
