Moderator & Player of the year 2018

Hello everyone,

It's time to decide who will be the moderator and player of the year 2018, while it's still fresh in everyone's memory. So first, we need your suggestions to know who was the best player and the best moderator during the last year.

Four trophies will be awarded, community's choice award, and staff's choice award for each. For the moment it's only suggestions here, please make sure to provide the reason, we are looking forward to your suggestions!

A strawpoll will be open in two or three days for the community's choice and all the results will be given in the next atwarpress.

Sultan of Swing, he has been very active this year. He has been helpful in numerous occasions, he always helps when I have questions and never pretends to be afk or ignore me. He has been crucial in the administration change and has helped David's new request to remove toxic players from the game. All and all a shining example of moral standards above the petty squabbles of the player base that has plagued this community for far to long.

I'll choose sascha aswell for player
Of the year, very helpful, started many good projects this year, is also a nice person, definitly deserved the promotion

Yes, I vote for Sultan, very active and helpful throughout the whole year.

I would also give praises to Sascha, who was promoted to moderator at the end of the year, and still managed to do a lot and help this community..

Player:
I nominate Sascha, since he was normal player in 2018. Most of us lost hope that this game will improve, but Sascha still fought and helped the game as supporter.

Remember that it's for two different appointments, moderator of the year and player of the year. but of course it is possible to suggest the same player for both.

Mod - Sultan of Swing:
Always active, doing his job (when needed), volunteering as well. And most of all having fun with the community!

For obvious reasons.

Obviously you can't vote for sascha as mod of the year. This should also rule out Sultan since he was only promoted roughly 4/5 months ago. If he's allowed then I should be since I was a mod for 9 months of this year. Minus the 1 month for when a certain somebody had me temporarily demoted.

Mod - Eagle. No bullshit no drama. He'll help you when you need it and is the most active mod. He isn't some dork who moderates on his phone in the middle of class, he actually plays the game, cws, duels, and keep himself involved.

Player - Nifty. He's been extremely active pooping out maps nonstop. Constantly stir up great conversation and keeps the game interesting. This game would honestly be more dead without him. Sad he decided to quit so we should give him POTY to honor his legacy.

Mod - Eagle/brian, despite not being a big talker Eagle maintains the competetive scene and it's important to keep him in mod team, brian is was the most reasonable mod to proceed to with complicated problems and always volenteered to help solving issues and conflicts.

Player of the year - I think it's Huarck. I am abit concrend about it because he was playing unfair from time to time he was powerful opposition to mainstream clans and puted the less hallowed and distinguished players in competition for the crown. Him and Eagle kinda saved CWs scenes from dying.

Mod - Sultan of Swing, he really worked this year and helped me many times.

Player - Sascha, He did alot tournaments, helped community and even became mod

Mod - The Tactician
The Tactician is one of the most inactive moderators on AtWar; therefore, he is one of the best. The only good moderator is an inactive moderator, and I appreciate him for this.

Player - Unleashed
Unleashed lives a challenging life. He survived two abortions, only to be mocked and harassed by the AtWar community because of his demeanor. He deserves no less than our full support. He deserves player of the year.

I nominate the player - Unleashed

If he wins this prize, he can return to the community maybe. He also played a major rule in uniting the competitive and scenario scenes in laughter, fear and admiration of his prowess. He also actively participated in forums and been the source of countless of memes. 2018 was his year, every honest player should vote for him since he truly deserves this prize.

The only moderator or one of the few that respond and is really helpful is Sid!

Here is really hard, but I will give the vote to Sascha cause he was doing stuff for the community while he was supporter and he still does them

Mod: Brianwl because he helped he from almost getting banned from scenarios
Player: Sascha because everyone is voting for him

Moderator: Sultan of Swing
Reason: I haven't really been active this year, but by judging by the amount of complaints about him on the forum (but his actions gets defended by Dave) then it's evident he's doing something right.

Player: Wheelo or Sascha
Reason: Wheelo and Sascha both lead the support programme when I went inactive. Very good people.

Anyway, what is the criteria?

Eagle cause maintain the competitive alive (sos is here for only a few months, and it's not because he talks more that all his actions are positive, to me he clearly doesnt' make consensus) ; or Brian cause i love him

Player of the year i was hesitating between Chess, GROM and 4nic, but chess came back only a few weeks ago, grom is disqualified due to the fact that his elo peak was removed and he dodged with PB last season. So i'll say 4nic, since he reached the highest elo, which is the thing competitive player seems to care more about. And i think that under a human perspective he's a POS.

Anyway, what is the criteria?

For moderator, basically, how well he does his job. For player, helpful and active with beneficial contributions to the game. Achievements or records in cw/duel, perhaps activity in creating maps/scenarios, tournament hosting, or posting supported/helpful topics, including bug reports. Of course, the possibilities are not limited by these. Any positive contribution should be and will be taken into consideration.

Mod: Eagle, down to earth guy. Unlike many other mods, he doesnt think his blueshield is a cockextension. Makes reasonable and good desicions, and is one of the most active. Keeps competative scene alive.

Player: Froyer, started competative scene in 2018, yet grew in to one of the strongest in the comp scene extremely fast. Very nice guy, he isn't toxic, also active. He also plays scenario sometimes and imo i think its good that people have variety within maps / games.

Grom - maded clan which won last cw season.

Mod - Sultan of Swing, he's been extremely helpful to me, to the point where he created a trophy on my profile just to cheer me up. I truly love him, and I think he deserves the mod of the year award. He's also helped David from what I've heard, and the fact that I also love David.... it really makes me feel happy because I can see atWar going in the right direction all thanks to Sultan and our new Messiah, Dave Christ. All hail to Dave Christ.

As for player, I'd go for Sascha because he hosts tournaments and tries his best to bring atWar together, which is amazing if you think about it because not many people can do that. He's extremely extraordinary and I think he deserves the player of the year award.
