Hey there,
Just some statistics about the top 20 players (as to 10.01.2013; 11:00 AM at my place)...

and...

They are somehow conclusive about players behaviour... and the type of games they play.

Cheers,
Columna Durruti

This is really cool, Columna. What I find very interesting is the games accounted for, which basically tells you how often the player had to leave for... tenis practice. zizou seems to have most of his games there, while TopHats... doesn't. learster only has his incredibly high statistics because he leaves quite a few games.

I think you should also include turns played as Arbitrator did in that one topic.

Avatar had a point...
since some players develop maps and scenarios, there are also a sort of "testing games" that fall into the "abandoned games" statistics!

Mr Hilter also had a point: Learster is a hard working guy and does not have as much time as the rest of us. And, thus, he abandones many games - even the winning ones - to watch some football or have some beers!

¡Cheers Learster!

Also is there some way of knowing how much SP was gained during the earlier days of Afterwind? wasn't SP different back then in some way?

Not possible to get this information from the user side... developers must have a record. Tried to access earlier versions of Afterwind with http://archive.org/web/web.php but does not keep original player statistics....

SP was never reset or on a different system. When AW transitioned from Beta to the released version all SP was carried over. So no ones stats are "missing" any SP.

Meh. ive probably made over 500 games by myself for training.

the most important and only meaningful stat is PVP battle win percentage.

Battles won and lost are skewed majorly by wall breaking. The more walls you make, the more battles you win, and the more walls you break, the more you lose. It's a question of playstyle, so I don't really buy into battles won/lost.

Nice, no red for me

also I should note I usually only leave games if I have less than 200 SP, after that I will surrender or stay until I die. I also used to latejoin a ton which resulted in a lot of instant losses hue. Interesting though, I figured most stats would be like this.

Medals. You used to earn a lot more SP from them, and requirements were lower. You actually get more SP from battles now than from battles in the old AW, due to system tweaks.

Actually, the games you leave you dont get sp's so they dont count on that statistic... I think leaster has that much sp/game won because he plays mostly world game pratically without allying and when he wins he alway gets tons of sp's

PvP battles are also good source of information... but like the others, there is a (ate least one) black spot... PvP battle statistics also include the one bomber one sends to a city just to turn-block the opponents move... and it is considered a PvP battle loss... or am I wrong?

Absolutely right. But, games you leave usually are games you are not in a winning position or, like the argument of avatar (and TopHat), games you play alone for testing and/or training purpose. On one hand they should be considered, because of the "I'm losing so I leave"-syndrom, on the other hand they should not be counted because of the training and testing games.
Thats why TopHats proposal of PvP-proxy...

Leaster is winner in this statistic xaxaxa
i thing he will be 1st player by sp if he dont quith his games and give his sp to low ranks.
once i play world game again him after he beat me there one guy in africa low rank, and leaster quith the game and that low rank earned 6000sp.
in my math if leaster dont quith all that world games now he will have 2 milion sp but anyway leaster is not stats player he dont even care for sp after he got all upgrades
