"Religion is real: no it's not" ??

Yes it is, you might wanna check the definition of real.

This is like saying the Three Little Pigs story is real. Real is something that I can see, touch, feel. Religion is fictional. It's a thing that we made up. It's in our minds. Personally, I think you are crazy, and crazy people shouldn't be moderators.

Now you can lock the thread.

Religion as a construct and idea is certainly real, the content within it being factual is not, in the sense of truth and facts. The content within it usually serves as metaphors and exaggerations of history to make a point, or tell a story. Religion is a belief process to understand, interpret, and romanticize every aspect of life, as specific to it's cultural origin.

if you are trying to say that the three little pigs are real, then how isn't God real? You can feel both of them emotionally but both not physically (You're only feeling paper, sonny). You can see God through his creations everywhere and anywhere. the three little pigs are also something made up in your head, according to your logic. (Didn't really understand whether you are for or against The Three Little Pigs being real so please forgive my incorrect comparisons.)

I think religion is made up to be honest and all the stuff you hear in sacred books of a certain religion have been modified and twisted to suit the modern era so you can't really believe anything they say. That's my stance on it.

Not all religions embrace the ideals you listed, nor do Abrahamic religions represent the entire outlook of Religion in general. Please, assert your argument specifically targeted at religions that oppress people, and not generalize it all as terrible. Religion can be any beliefs, friend. In essence, we're all religious to a certain point.

I'm not your friend. If you're gonna talk bullshit, you're better off not saying anything.

Of course "not all". The "not all" argument is retarded. That's not the fucking point. I am mainly reffering to the two, biggest major religions. I already said this. There are some religions that do not deserve to be bashed. But when you draw the line, that's what religion is: fiction, bullshit, and lies. And a gay dude defending the very thing that threatened him with eternal hell, WOW I am mind fucked. Son, I am dissapoint.

The "not all" argument is not retarded in the slightest, as it's merely a viewpoint saying that not all Religions happen to be the same in the way you portray them.

Those 100.000 + Japanese american citizens believed in their rights also. That didn't prevent them from being locked up. They did nothing. All they did was, they had squinted eyes. And now you won't respond anymore cause really there's nothing you can say anymore. You have no rights, they are imaginary and they apply when govt wants to, not when you want. To create it to first believe, then to act, and then to do. If enough people believe something, and act accordingly, it will become truth.

Religion is real, its concepts are not.

Alright, I am crazy according to you. Thank goodness that Unleashed thinks I'm crazy, I'll sleep better tonight.

lol the three little pigs? Nice analogy 5/5. Are you talking about the Bible or Religion? Because not all of the Bible's content is fictional, have you read it? Or have you only watched Conspiracy documentaries, George Carlin, Bill Maher or memes saying religion and its construct is bullshit? You say it's bullshit, lies and fiction, where are the reasons? The only one you gave was that man created it and religion, which is obviously true, we all know this.

If you do believe the bible and religion are bullshit, lies and fiction, I'd like to see your opinion on a few notions, if you care to answer.

1) What is your opinion on the evolution of thought after the book of Jobs, in accordance to the chronology of the Holy Bible. Would you be willing to accept that the notion of retribution was broken? And do you think it still manifested itself in the following books of the Bible. If you haven't read the book of Jobs, I suggest you take at look it. Your views will improve, or you might just find it interesting, I'm not sure.

2) Do you think the Deuteronomy passages actually promote rape or do you think the pre-modern conception of people affected the laws imposed in this text?

3) Lastly, do you think the Bible was created initially with the purpose to control people? Or, do you think religion was created with the purpose to control people? Or, do you think they were both created with the right intention to teach the morality of the era, and the "purpose of control" was thus incidental because of man's egotistical beliefs and wanting of power?

You are right Unleashed that rights are, in essence, imaginary; because they're abstract ideals that have been imposed. However, some "rights" are accepted by most people, like the right to live, which I'm sure everyone agrees on. Incidental rights from your country's Constitution can be modified or gradually reduced, like the right to information. Hence the right to freedom of speech, which is obviously the most absurd "right" in existence, is one that the government likes to throw around to make you believe you have some; it's an illusion. So I agree with you there, but it's not entirely the case. The right to live is one that everyone has (in most established Constitutions). Removing the right to live or saying that it is imaginary is thus paradoxical when considering that all persons desire to live. Because of intersubjective contact the right to live exists.

You need to specify the rights you're talking about Unleashed.

Gardevoir said everything else that needs to be said.

The barer of the child has the right to it's life, as before it's birth, it's technically a parasite. If the barer wishes to rid itself of the child, than it shall. I personally believe in Abortion, but I myself would rather seek and alternative to it once the technology is available.

I liked to debate about religion with:
• my religion school teacher ...made him angry so many times that he said to my mother that i have a twisted views about faith
• my friend who actually studied religion in college ...despite that he isnt religious, like im not either
• everyone else who has manners and can discuss something by first hearing what other persons views are, present arguments, and discuss normaly

Unleashed has me on ignore:
• because i said to him to stop insulting people
• thats it...

Me and him never debated on anything, despite him saying over and over again how we did and how he "won" ...but yeah guess he is using the "repeat a lie a hundred times and it becomes the truth"

Im not religious, he is not religious, but there are some differences between us:
• i have manners and intelligence
• i do have opinions on God and religion ...he only has his chant "its all lies, you are all retards" <--- that doesnt make you intelliegent, that ISNT an argument
• his opinions and views are something i had as a 10 year old ...grown up, realised things like faith, political views, taste in music can only be discussed, not forced on people and call them retards if they dont agree with you
• will not rant over and over again about something, lets face it, most people already know (even religious people i know dont blindly belive everything the bible or church tells them ...religion is a philosophy, church is a community, priests are just humans)

I agree with you. Unleashed is going through a stage many young atheists go through. Hopefully, he matures from that. There are a lot of 14-18 year olds who suddenly become enlightened with this notion of "religion is all evil" and everyone who believes in it is retarded.
