So we aim to spruce up the competitive scene a little and what better way than to spruce it up with some unique atWar trophies. The idea is to have trophies available to purchase from atwar for winning in game competetions, this is an example so don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen, we would really like to hear your thoughts and feedback on this. Example Trophy

By purchase do you mean with Pc's or with leftover SP that ppl have?

I think it would be a good idea to make it both. PC bought trophies would be initially more valuable than an SP trophy, but both should be implemented.

Ideally we would have an official partner to endorse the platform and that would cover the cost of the trophy over the web sales may also be a possibility, but may be too expensive.

You could also make it so people have to pay certain amount of PC to enter the tournament

Why should you be able to buy something you're supposed to be rewarded with? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

So you achieve something but you have to pay sp or pc to get a trophy for it? No support... It should just be added to premium.

Wait you mean like a physical trophy that you can display in a trophy cabinet once you win a tourney?... Because I wouldnt pay for a trophy if i deserved one on my profile... I doubt winning an AW tourney is really a significant enough an achievement to warrant buying a physical trophy.... and there are so few players who actually win anything legit enough in the first place for this to be any more succesful than signing up a handful of players to premium. But on the lines of making money.. why not introduce new strategies that can be purchased?... easy short term spike in sales if they're good enough.. I would happily spend $10 on 4 cool new strats... but they would have to be good.. maybe even throw in some new purchasable units to the standard game play.. or get the best map makers to make maps that you can sell access for.. i'm sure tunder and hellraiser would be keen on the idea of earning commission to make awesome new maps... if I had to buy ancient I would have been pretty happy to pay $2-3 dollars for that too... would need a review process... I just don't think selling trophies would work in principle... trophies are suppose to be earned... But Kudos for actually coming up with something!

Mfw its an actual trophy. If you're going that far then it should be for something very well deserved, such as multiskill tourney or punisher. If you want to incite competitiveness more I suggest something a little more game-changing. I have two ideas that will be worth the time implementing them. One strategy based and one team and community based. The first one and the one I think will gain more approval is implementing team elo, squads, groups, player-type, and random events/tourneys. Let's look at them one by one: Team elo and squads: These go hand in hand so I included both in one. Team elo would give more incentive to play team games, and reward well-earned victories. Which brings us to squads, like mini clans (convenient since there were some complaints that clans are too big stacking players etc) but with no chat, forum, and profile page. I went to these extremes with squads because if we give them too many features clans will be useless. Squads would compete for team elo and winning squad is rewarded with trophies. Players wouldn't have these trophies on profile, but they could earn achievement related squad trophies such as reaching a specific amount of elo in a season, winning idk how many games in a row etc. These would be 3-5 players and serve as the competitive aspect as clans but without the community. Groups: These would be the community aspect of clans. Groups are for people who share a common bond but don't want to leave their clans just to share that bond. For example I can make an Arab group to chat with all the Arabs on AW. This would give players another purpose to log on, as it really creates new relationships and bonds with players. Although, being in the same group and squad as a clan is basically the equivalent of being in the same clan, so I think it should be prohibited, and to be able to play with players in your group you have to link your group with your squad with PC. There could be unlimited links, but each one has to be bought with say 100-500 PC. This would serve as profit from the people who want to be in the same group and play in the same squad but don't want to leave their clans (as their request is very specific and would indeed semi-defeat the purpose of clans). Player type: I proposed this probably a year and a half ago, and it was to have ''player type'' on profile. AKA world player, competitive player, scenario player, RP player, ancient player, all round player etc. You can choose two, have the option to sort by player type on the players list, perhaps have an option to compare profiles etc. This isn't really major, but it would make players more involved in the community. Random events/tourneys: This has proven to be great. Examples are Pulse's flash tourneys, and b0nker's quizzes. They were always fun, and rewards at the end would be great. Again, another reason for players to log onto the game/stay playing it. Now for the other suggestion about strategies, I'm going to SS what I had on the suggestions to aw thread first. This could arguably be more work balancing the strategy creator, but it will be absolutely amazing. Maybe restrict it to custom maps only and that'd be fine. It would create a whole new community though (like custom maps) and attract more and more players to the game. Have 5 custom strategies slots and if you want more you have to buy with PC, award most used strategy or when it reaches a certain number of uses etc. Also, I really like the idea Phoenix brought up of map makers selling quality maps.

this sounds like a better idea were the winner gets some pc back and a cool trophy and aw makes a few pcs edit: also it could be like a room where the tournaments are small starting from 5 players like small lightning tournaments.

To make clear and to other people who have posted similar feedback, ideally we would have some kind of endorsement from a sponsor as part of a wider deal with atWar - (this is work in progress and is only an idea), covering the cost of the trophy and maybe other prizes related to the sponsor. Otherwise, if a tournament host wanted to design trophies related to a particular tournament, this would also be possible and the winner would have the choice of buying a trophy - remember atWar is relatively small and wouldn't be able to handle the production and shipping costs without recouping the monies - whilst also providing more ways for players to spend PCs and support the game too . Sorry for not making this clearer in my original post!
