I'm sure a lot of you have been playing a game and a wave of trolls will enter the game to spectate. They will spam, tell people to quit, or they will say 'REMAKE' constantly.

"Put them on ignore." You say? Sure, you can't see their rambling anymore, but not everyone will do it and if things get confusing enough, a lot of the players will leave and join the spectator's "remake".

I bought a premium subscription so I could play awesome scenarios, but my experience thus far has been absolutely terrible. Just today I had 4 different United Nations games ruined because a few spectators didn't join in time/the game was full. So what did they do? They started spamming, telling people they made a remake, generally being unpleasant people. It is annoying and demoralizing for a game you hosted to be so easily destroyed by random trolls. I do not have a lot of free time due to my career and personal responsibilities, but when I do manage to get some leisure time and choose to spend it playing atWar, I would like it to be enjoyable and not cluttered with unsavory experiences or be forced to have the games I host be destroyed by immature and inconsiderate people.

This is why I suggest that the HOST of the game have the option to do one or a combination of the following before the game or during:

1. No spectators: Just like the 'extra cities' option, there should be an option that no spectators can join
2. Limit Spectators: Give the option to limit the amount of people that can spectate
3. Muted Spectators: The option to allow spectators to watch, but they are mute in the game and can only communicate via PM with players in the game. This would mean taking away their ability to use the ROOM chat while they are spectating as well, so they couldn't spam. They can still use their Clan chat, global, etc.
4. Kick Spectators: Let's say the host of a game chose to LIMIT spectators or allowed all spectators in, but one of them began to troll. The host should have the option to kick spectators at any time or, like option 3, mute them.
5. Ban from spectating: Some people have a stalker, and by that, I mean some people sometimes have that one person that loves following them around in games, spectating and trolling them. I suggest that the OPTION be added for someone to ban another person from spectating a game they are hosting. It would be similar how the current Add Friend, Ignore, Enemy list works. You would have a personal 'Banned' list.

These options could be only for premium players, which in turn would add extra allure and incentive for people to purchase a premium subscription. Or it could be free... or maybe 1 of these options is available for free players, but if you wanted all of the options, you have to get a premium account.

Feel free to expound on these ideas or add your own ideas. Thanks for reading and thank you for your time.

Simple plan DONT PLAY THAT DAMN NOOB UN GAME *Problem Done*

I was just using it as an example, there are other instances of games with a different scenario being ruined as well. This was a sample of my experiences, not all of them as a whole. It's very unscientific to assume uniform correlation with only a single piece of information or evidence.

If you limit spectators they can still join.

But just ignore them. It's not very annoying to have spectators.

my meanwhile, in 1932. just got ruined because a noob call basaum, was telling everyone that the game was un, or that the game was pointless cause bolivia quit.
and then he was telling everyone that he made a remake.

But then again, it is going to be rather difficult if you have a huge UN map and wanting to get a major overhaul of players to join. Not many players will be willing to join.

Focusing on your overall ideas I disagree with most of them. Maybe you would have a list of spectators viewable by all players of the game but the host has certain powers to kick out the spectators from that spectator list. I think this should be an area where the Admins should work on in the future. I wouldn't limit or have "no spectators" because it gives clan leaders a HUGE DISADVANTAGE over watching new potential players that they would want to invite if they go and join a "no spectator" game.
Don't get me wrong but I think posts like this (the original post) are crap because they are usually made by noobs like you. Why do you care if spectators are ruining your game? I would be more interested on playing my game than focusing on what the spectators have to say. Yes there are trolls but like you said just ignore them. If they are still repeating their actions then report them through to the mod channel:

"/report" -" text goes here ". Use this in-game and if there is a message saying "no mods online" then take a screenshot, the "Prt Scr Sysrq" button on your keyboard and paste it onto paint or whatever. Upload it to a image uploading site, preferably [urlhttp://imgur.com/]Imgur[/url]. Show this screenshot to a Mod that is/would come online and he will deal with it. Don't make idiotic posts like this in the future because,

A. The majority of the more influential players in AW won't care about this.
B. This has a "almost unlikely" probability chance of being implemented in the future, although I would like to see the Admins giving a go implementing the list of spectators and giving the host powers to kick them out if necessary.

Sorry, I liked the idea at first mate but after reading it again I had second thoughts. Sorry mate

This is why this is called having the option to do the things I mentioned. They aren't compulsory. If someone creates a No Spectators game or has one of the options I listed in effect, it would probably show it on the game image in the main lobby. No one will be forced to join a game that doesn't allow spectators to speak. No one is forcing you to do anything. I believe a host should have absolute control over the game they are hosting, especially if they PAID to have the ability to host scenarios.

Similar to real life, why would you purchase something if you weren't allowed to do what you will with it? Of course, there would be fail safes in place so a Host doesn't just kick absolutely everyone all the time, there could be a limit in place.

"Don't get me wrong but I think posts like this (the original post) are crap because they are usually made by noobs like you. Why do you care if spectators are ruining your game?" -LFC4Life

Thanks for the ad hominem attack. Why do I care if spectators are ruining my game? I believe I stated it clearly before. I'm here to have fun when I have the time. I paid for a service and the ability to host fun scenarios, but that is being disrupted by those spectators that wish to simply be immature or are mad for whatever reason.

Also, influential players? Ideas are influential. People are shaped by their ideas and most of the people here have thus agreed that this one is decent enough for consideration. Thank you for your time, albeit rude and disrespectful. I still wish you the best.

Yes most of the people here have agreed to your ideas. But answer this question.

Because they have agreed to it.. does that really mean it is being considered by the Admins?

Look at the views page of this thread and point out many high rankers. Then point out how many of those high rankers that didn't comment on this. That shows much they care about it and usually when a high ranker (usually) gives out a suggestion it is considered. If you are lucky however, Amok or Ivan may consider yours.

I am not being rude I am just stating my opinion of your original post just like you.

It may not currently be being considered by the Admins, but when an idea gets enough looks and comments to the positive, it will be impossible for them to ignore.

This is a game to us; but to the creators and Admins of the game, this is a business. As in all business, it will ultimately boil down to what is good for business, not the opinions of "high rankers". Just because someone has a lot of time to burn on this game gaining SP and rank, doesn't make them more influential. Some of the most immature and rude people I've encountered on this game have been what you call "high rankers".

I'm sure the creators and Admins want to expand their business and generate more profit. Quite a few "high rankers" haven't paid for a premium subscription. If you owned a business, who would you listen to: non-paying disgruntled "high rankers" or a premium subscriber with a decent idea, that actually suggests ways to potentially generate more profit, thus enabling you to better the game and expand it?

Basically what I'm trying to say is that a good idea is a good idea, regardless of your rank or influence in the community.

That doesn't solve the problem of them remaining in the game you're hosting and throwing it into chaos. It's very irritating when there is a group of spectators in your game spamming and telling people to join a different game. Especially after you spent an hour trying to assemble the game, only to have these inconsiderate people ruin it within a minutes of it starting -- or even worse -- after you've been playing for a while.

Another problem with this is that nothing really stops a determined troll to join that game and keep spamming as an actual player. I would rather they stayed as spectators in that case.

Dude you want to get rid of spectators spamming in game and room chat? Easy solutions -

1) Ignore function like Amok said.

OR

2) There is a way to get rid of game chat and room chat altogether. Where you have the box you type your chat in next to it on the right is a box with the word "game" or "room" or "global" whatever lobby you are in. Click that box and tick off the boxes which you don't want to appear in your chat. This will block off all the spam in your chatscreen and you can talk to your allies/friends in peace.

Will make a screenshot of this later.

Those are personal solutions, small pieces of the greater puzzle, not a complete solution.

For some reason I feel as if you're not grasping what I'm saying or the entire problem itself. Your screenshot shows how to solve the problem for a single person, not everyone trying to enjoy the game. "Tell them all to ignore the spectators or untick the boxes." Again, a few of them may be new or can't be bothered, all it takes for them to quit is an annoying spectator.

It doesn't change the fact that a Host should be able to kick spectators out of a game. Not everyone in the game will place a spectator on ignore or untick a box, especially if they are relatively new and do not know all of the controls yet. This empowers the Host to provide a fun environment for the game they are playing.

I have to agree with Castle on this, sure, you can untick the box, sure you can press the ignore button, but that'll only work for you, the spectators can still annoy other players who might not bother. They also ruin games, cause people to leave and join their supposed remake so yes, this is definetly a feature that needs adding.
Ignoring just wont cut it.

You have nothing to be angry about if you're not the type of spectator that enjoys spamming and ruining the game experience of others. I believe that it would irritate the mods if you are constantly filling their inbox. The options I suggested here would actually cut down on the work they have to do, thus freeing them up to do actual real time moderation.
