Opinions on the United Nations?

Not UN games, actual UN.

I despise the organization. They ignore the actual world problems and focus on stupid things. Example:

Right now, Bashar Al Assad is murdering his own citizens. There is a coup in Central African Republic. China is committing a cultural genocide of the Tibetans. North Korea continues to starve their own people. So what was the subject of the recent meeting of the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights? The Washington Redskins. Thousands of people around the world are dying and all they can talk about is the name of a fucking football team.

Does anyone else see the idiocy here?

Switzerland didn't join until 2002 and they were doing just fine before then. Realize that everything the UN does, individual nations can do by themselves or with other nations. Wouldn't be sure about that. Besides, in Geneva (Switzerland) there is one of the biggest UN HQ, dealing with human rights. My plea is that we should not think that institutions are monolithic; they are full of contradictions and internal power struggles. ---- Loading... Loading...

I'm not good at arguing, but I have to defend my faith. We have free will, and with it if we decide to kill each other, we do. It's out of God's hands.
