^ assassinating the man who saved Rome from both the evil celts and optimates
Saw an opportunity, you have the most influence, by removing you i had a chance to win this.
I stopped caring after t2 anyway. Wasn't fun for me to play when 15 of us can't organize to beat the shit out of Carthage and Illyria. You care more for your factions and power.
PS: Aetius updated my stats falsely, should read 'executed for attempt murder', not murder.

Battle of Thermopylae
Lustrious Felix Pompeius (Phoenix) (Direct Charge) TACTICAL COUTNER
(3 veterans (2x)+4 command+2 field consul bonus)=18 strength
Antiochus III (Surprise Attack)
(6 Armies+5 strength) = 11 strength
Battle Roll: 10 (+9 from greater strength+4 from tactial counter =23)
Result: Decisive Victory
Antiochus imagined himself Alexander re-incarnated and felt boldness was the key to victory. Before dawn, he summoned his men for a surprise attack upon Pompeius camp. Charging down the defile into the plains they easily took the palisade and threw down the first roman sentry...except it was a man of straw. In the clear morning air a roman trumpet blew from behind the seleucid force, Pompeius and his legions were now in Antichos former position, having overwhelmed the defenders in the mountain path and taken the camp (strength doubled). A great charge from the romans directly at the seleucid forces out of formation in behind, it was a complete disaster. They were annihilated and Antiochus fled to asia.
Pursuing him there, he rallied Pergamon and Rhodes to the roman coalition, together they sieged and routed his new weaker armies. Realizing his empire would collapse if this war continued any longer, Antiochus sued for a humiliating peace, ceding all territory west of Taurus mtns to rome's allies, paying a massive war indemnity, promising to not expand westward without roman permission, to keep their fleet small and to hamstring all their war elephants.
Roman Casualties
Minimal
Seleucid Casualties
Heavy
Lustrious Felix Pompeius (Phoenix) gains 3 influence and 3 popularity for victory
Lustrious Felix Pompeius (Phoenix) gains the cognomen ex virtue "Asiaticus"
-1 unrest for a victory
Rome gains 45 talents in war spoils
Sicilian Campaign
Sulla Pisentius (White Army) (Direct Charge)
(3 Legions +1 veterans+4 command)=9 strength
Slaves (Balanced)
(4 Armies) = 4 strength
Battle Roll: 9 (+5 from greater strength =14)
Result: Pyrrhic Victory
The slaves did not opt to meet Pisentius in an open battle. Rather they fought a long and bloody guerilla war, launching ambushes, harassing supply lines, attacking soldiers when off-duty, and undermining roman support. So effective were these irregular tactics that Pisentius losses began to mount. Any town suspected of supporting Eunus' slaves were punished. In the island interior he had to take out their fortified positions one by one in costly sieges. FInally at Enna he had cornered the slaves and using the last of his fighting force breached their defenses, crucifying them all. Although victorious, his legions were no longer strong enough to be considered effective fighting forces and had to be disbanded.
Roman Casualties
-3 Legions
Legio XIII Gallica
Rebel Slave Casualties
Total
Sulla Pisentius (White Army) gains 2 influence and 2 popularity for victory
-1 unrest for a victory
-1 popularity for losing 4 legions in victory

My father worked many years dedicating himself to this Senate and the state. I plan on doing the same. While I may have been used as a figurehead by the likes of treacherous snakes, I rest easy knowing they remain locked up and will never see the light of day. With the financial strains placed on my family, I have decided to place 3 on an equite.
