So my friends and I are having a mini tournament with 1v1 Duels and the game is usually limited to Eurasia, and both players start with 50k. I usually like to choose Turkey if I get to pick my country first, but if the other player chooses Turkey, I usually have a tough time winning.

When I try to use Iran and perfect defense, I usually lose because the player using Turkey gets access to all of Europe. When I choose a country such as Germany or France, I usually lose because Turkey has access to the Middle East as well as Syria/Lebanon/Jordan/Egypt, etc... When I choose India and try to rush using Blitz, I usually run out of money fighting in the Middle East and the player with Turkey occupies all of Europe and eventually beats me.

So that leads me to my question, in a Eurasia game with 50k, which country should I choose to counter Turkey? (Also which strategy should I use for that country)

Try Saudi Arabia, then wall Egypt while taking Jordan, isreal, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait and Iran if you get the chance. The next turn, try to get azer, Georgia and Armenia. Try to take turkeys empty cities this turn too.

It depends if you want a quick ending or a lategame. If you want a quick ending try Sid's suggestion, or also get Ukraine SM (since your reinforcements will be increased) and expand the way you get enough troops to cap him turn 3 or 4 (you can find this kind of expansion here http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=19175). If you want a lategame, you can pick India Imperialist buying 40 % tanks and 60 % infantry; also India PD buying only infantry. China SM works too, but you must reach India maximum turn 4 or he might reach India first and defend it while he takes Europe.

Turkey's main disadvantage in 10k is low income and money. Take those negative things away by making it 50k, and you have a powerhouse of a country that can use all is reins with expensive strategies like Lucky Bastard or Desert Storm. Ukraine would get crushed early.
