Unban and rule changes

Should evqze be unbanned so games fill faster? Banning players who try to fill the game is not a good thing. Atwar's activity has been declining for years and banning players for that just make the game lose activity faster. Should rules be changed to allow the use of 2 accounts on the same team? For example the same person would be allowed to play Prussia and Bulgaria in WW1. No approval would be needed from other players, but they would need to be aware that someone is using 2 accounts. Let this poll decide the future of atwar. Voting will close in 48 hours.

Yes, I did that. But as Bulgaria I couldn't really do much more lol because balkans was won and I think ottoman was doing fine.

I am not sure if I would cap without Bulgaria's help, but that's what Bulgaria does a lot of time in this WW1. Bulgaria usually takes Romania and then South Ukraine so therefore Bulgaria can help with taking Russia's cap. This also sometimes happened in original WW1 where Bulgaria and Austria would send help to cap Kiev. But yes I agree, it's just a game and everyone should have a chance to play and have fun.

I think evqze is the only one in the whole game community that deserves to banned even more than xbugs.

It's remarkable how far this situation has escalated, and I believe much of the responsibility lies with @evqze himself, who kept stirring the pot instead of trying to resolve things early on. Everything I know about the ban came from his own prosecutors and from @evqze himself. Still, something about the permanent ban doesn't sit right with me.

As far as I understand, @evqze had an alt account that he occasionally used to fill empty slots in games struggling to start. Anyone who's played atWar in recent months knows how difficult it can be to gather enough players, it can take hours (sometimes many hours). In that context, using an alt to fill one last spot becomes a tempting idea, even if it breaks the rules.

The entire system designed to prevent the use of alt accounts exists to stop players from farming SP/Elo, sabotaging games, ruining competitive, or harassing others. Given that, it's hard to imagine someone using an alt simply to play without ulterior motives. And yet, that's exactly what @evqze believed he could do, driven by the desire to enjoy the game in a time of scarce players. Unfortunately, that poor judgment resulted in a permanent ban. What bothers me most is that the majority of those who began attacking and accusing @evqze in recent weeks aren't even active in atWar compared to him. He played nearly every day. They don't face the same desolate lobbies, and thus, can't understand his motivation. They attributed malice to what was simply naivety.

It's also worth noting that @evqze did not took the ban well. He kept trying to play using other accounts, which I consider his biggest mistake. Instead of seeking dialogue, he just kept trying to play, something that for him was always the primary goal. In his eyes, he couldn't understand being punished for simply wanting to play, since he had never sabotaged, disrupted, or trolled anyone. His error lay in how he went about it (what I see as a desperate attempt to play).

After enduring a wave of hostility on Discord and atWar lobby, @evqze likely began provoking his accusers (a second mistake that only worsened the situation and made him look more like the villain) by tricking them to think he was still playing using alt accounts (which in most of times he wasnt). I repeatedly told him to stop provoking, even while understanding his frustration. And honestly, I believe he has stopped, whether because he listened or came to that decision on his own.

Here's what we can conclude:

• @evqze wanted to play atWar
  
• Other players (mostly inactive) didn't like it
  
• He misunderstood the rules
  
• He got permanently banned
  
• He didn't take the ban well
  
• atWar lost a daily active player who never intended harm
  
• The ban had no connection to the real alt abuse problem
  
• atWar remains deserted, with games rarely filling up

My final thought is simple: @evqze should be forgiven, and hopefully, he has learned from his mistakes after all this turmoil.

People spend time and energy to play this game and both these things are important for an average productive adult who might want to spend a few hours in this game to relax and enjoy himself. With you in the game, it is pre-determined that these hours and energy will be wasted, never to be returned, because you decided you want to play with people and their intellect.

You did not simply ruin the game experience. You literally wasted hours and hours of precious time for each and every player you exploited, and for this you deserve every single day of ban in the world.

You mention that atwar's playerbase is rapidly declining. True, but here's two things to consider: 1) You're a part of the problem, whether you realise it or not, you're forcing players out with your actions. 2) It is better to have a few honest players and play a decent game every fortnight, rather than play everyday, and get to have trolls and exploiters in the game. The solution to the playerbase problem is DEFINETELY not unbanning people who ruin the game itself.

Perhaps instead of urging everybody to reconsider their position and stance towards you, maybe, just maybe, it is time for you to reconsider your life decisions, that have made you 1) So clingy to a game that you cant live without playing it for 3 months, 2) So needy to cheat and exploit in a game, ruining the experience of other players, and draining you of any feeling of satisfaction of victory, as any you might achieve, has been done so through foul ways.

I would like to know how am I wasting the time of other players? By using 2 accounts in the same team in a scenario game I make the game fill faster so there is a smaller risk of the game not filling. I am not exploiting (mods can confirm that) so I don't understand why that was brought up in this discussion. Sometimes we need to wait 30 minutes for one person to join so the games fill, but there are also a lot of situations when games fail simply because we are missing just one player. Using an ALT to help fill games (on the same team) should be allowed in my opinion.

They are one reason why I stopped playing. They literally infest every game and either abuse with alts or allyfag. I am not saying all of them play with multiple accounts, but most of them benefit from it and have knowledge when their fellow Frenchies engage in it. These guys deserve to have their clan purged into oblivion and their leaders lifetime bans.
